Yarmouth’s FIRST marathon running event with proceeds to the Kidney Foundation, Nova Scotia Branch!
The Kidney Foundation of Canada is the national health charity committed to kidney health and to improved lives for all people living with kidney disease.
The Yarmouth “Bean There. Ran that!” Marathon name reflects that this is a charity run for the Kidney Foundation of Canada (Nova Scotia Branch).

Distance Options
There are three distances to choose from: 10k, half-marathon or full marathon.
Start time and location
All runners will begin at 8:00 a.m. at NSCC Burridge Campus.
Routes
This route is by far the freshest, most scenic and beautiful route in Yarmouth County. The route is relatively flat with a few hills and will be well marked.
All runners will head out on the same route towards the Yarmouth Light along the picturesque Lighthouse Route. The route is along the back of Yarmouth harbor.
10K – runners will turn around at the 5k mark and return along the same route, finishing on a long uphill (Hibernia Street) to the finish line at Burridge.
Half Marathon – runners will pass the Fishermen’s Monument and go through the small fishing village of John’s Cove, past John’s Cove beach and False Harbour to the turn around just before the scenic lighthouse. Returning along the same route, runners will finish on a long uphill (Hibernia Street) to the finish line at Burridge.
Full Marathon – runners also return along the same route as the half- marathon. At Main Street they will continue along Lake Milo and Highway 1 to Hebron corner, South Ohio corner and Route 340 north to the corner of the Hardscratch Road which they follow back to the Brooklyn Road finishing at Burridge.
